What My Business Is All About

I'm a communications professional, and as you can tell from my photo, thats's something I've been doing for more than a few years.  Basically, I'm a writer, editor and voice talent. 

I provide talent and expertise developed over a 35-year career to a select group of clients.  I don't work with clients I don't feel I can help.  By serving a select group of clients with whom I enjoy working, I'm able to provide personalized attention and exceptional service. 

My rates are highly competitive, given the quality of work I do, and you are assured of only working with me personally.  I have no "junior staffers" to whom I assign work when I'm overloaded. You'll get my personal attention, and I guarantee that you'll be happy with the outcome. 

A Bit About My Background

Larry Prendergast founded Prendergast Consulting, a company specializing in corporate communications, in 2010.  Since then, he has provided a variety of communications services to a select group of Fortune 1000 and privately-held client companies.

Prior to founding his own firm, Larry was Vice President and Senior Vice President at Lee Hecht Harrison, a worldwide human resources consulting firm, where he worked from 1998 until 2010.  At LHH, he directed internal communications activities, web content and program design, and sales strategy development for this global business unit of Adecco SA.  Earlier in his career, Larry gained extensive experience in sales, marketing and corporate communications with Johnson & Johnson, Avon Products, and the Valley Health System, and in advertising and public relations with BBDO, J. Walter Thompson and DDB/Needham. 

Larry holds a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University, and an M. B. A. from Adelphi University.  He has completed additional studies at Cornell, Harvard and New York universities, and has lectured on strategic planning and corporate communications as part of N.Y.U.’s Urban Business Coalition Program, a pro bono outreach program for minority business owners. 

Larry is a member of several professional organizations, and has served on the boards of the Northern New Jersey Maternal and Child Health Consortium, the Bergen County Chapter of the American Heart Association, and the New Jersey Botanical Garden.  He is Past President of the Ridgewood  A. M. Rotary Club, and a past director of the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce.  Larry is active with the Fordham Club of Northern New Jersey, and serves as a naturalist and hike leader volunteer for the Appalachian Mountain Club in Maine and New Hampshire.
